Connect Cursor

2 minute read · Chats & Local Agents

Use Cursor as a coding agent inside a Vortex conversation. Cursor supplies the agent and model access; Vortex keeps the project, tools, approvals and review beside the task.

Connect an account

  1. Open Settings → AI providers and choose Cursor.
  2. Check the installation status. Use Install if the integration is missing, and wait for verification to finish.
  3. Add an account and choose Sign in. Complete the provider's browser flow, then return to Vortex and check the account status.
  4. In a conversation, choose Cursor, the intended account and an available model from the provider and model controls.
  5. Start with a small request: “Inspect this project and explain how to run it.” Check the folder and result before asking for changes.

Checking installation or refreshing the model list does not sign you in. A connected account and an installed integration are separate requirements. Existing sign-ins on the computer are not silently used for a newly connected account.

Guide and review a task

Cursor supports streamed conversations, model selection and supported session continuation. Questions, plans and approval requests appear with the run. Read them before replying; an expired question is not permission for a new action.

Choose the appropriate access mode. Auto follows the authorized task and Cursor's supported review behavior. Plan remains read-only. Provider restrictions and project boundaries still apply. The controls available in Cursor can differ from Codex or Claude Code.

Check the result

Ask for one visible change, inspect its Git diff and try the app in Browser. A completed agent message does not prove the app works or that it has been published.

If sign-in fails, reopen the connection flow for the same account. If a run is interrupted, read the last completed step and existing changes before trying again. Use Copy error when useful, review the copied text and remove private details before sharing it.
