Introduction

One workspace for the work around your code

VORTΞXHQ is a desktop developer workspace for macOS and Windows. It brings databases, SSH terminals, FTP/SFTP files, API requests, captured email and application signals into one consistent interface.

What makes it different: every one of those tools is also exposed to your AI through the built-in MCP server. The agent you already use — Claude Code, Cursor, or any Model Context Protocol client — can query your databases, run commands on your servers, browse remote files and fire API requests, with secrets resolved from the encrypted vault and never shown to the model, and with mutations gated behind a native approval you click.

The current release is a public beta. The core tools and the MCP server are available today; commercial plans are intentionally not part of the current product promise while their final shape is being designed.

The workspace

• Home — recent connections, projects and a summary of the active Nexus.
• Database — MySQL/MariaDB and PostgreSQL over direct or SSH-tunnel connections.
• Files — FTP, FTPS and SFTP browsing, transfers and remote editing.
• API — request collections, environments, scripts, response inspection and sharing.
• Mail — local SMTP capture plus cloud mailboxes and framework setup snippets.
• Signals — a focused stream for application errors and operational events.
• Terminal — saved SSH hosts, keys, known hosts, logs and multi-tab sessions.
• MCP — the local server that hands all of the above to your AI client, with approvals and audit.

Nexus

A Nexus is the collaboration boundary for people and shared resources. Switch it from the title bar; the active Nexus controls the shared connections, clusters, credentials and projects you can access — and it scopes what a connected MCP client can reach.
