Application Shell — Windows, Tabs & Dock
Multi-window support, detachable tabs, dock menu actions, and a per-profile single-instance lock — VORTΞXHQ behaves like a native desktop power tool.
Windows
- Open multiple top-level windows from File → New Window (Cmd+Shift+N).
- Each window has its own active module and tab set; cloud data syncs across them in real time.
- Close-window confirmations only appear for tabs with unsaved edits.
Detachable tabs
Drag a tab out of its tab bar to spawn a new window with that tab. Drag it back onto another window's tab bar to re-dock. Useful for comparing two API responses side-by-side or watching SSH and SQL together.
Dock menu (macOS)
Right-click the dock icon for instant actions:
- New email capture · New SSH · New API request · New SQL query.
- Open Quick Task panel.
- Switch profile (if you have multiple installed).
System tray (Windows / Linux)
VORTΞXHQ minimises to the system tray on close (configurable in Settings → General → Close to tray). The tray icon shows the unread email count and exposes the same quick actions as the macOS dock menu.
Single-instance lock per profile
Launching VORTΞXHQ while another instance of the same profile is open focuses the existing window instead of starting a second copy. Different profiles can run side-by-side because the lock is keyed by profile name — see Multi-profile mode.
Window state persistence
Position, size, and the open tab set per window are remembered across launches. Reopen exactly where you left off, on every monitor.
