Billing & Payment Management
Beta accounts have nothing to bill — yet. Here is what billing will look like once paid tiers go live.

No payment, no card, no invoices — yet.
While VORTΞXHQ is in public beta, billing is fully disabled. Your Settings → Subscription screen shows a beta badge instead of a payment form.
What you can do today
- Track usage. Open Settings → Account → Usage to see AI calls, sync events, vault items and Nexus seats consumed this month.
- Join the founder cohort. Opt in from Settings → Account → Beta Program to test paid features early and lock in a permanent founder discount.
- Pre-fill invoice details. If you plan to upgrade later as a company, you can pre-set billing name, address and VAT number now — we will have it ready when paid plans launch.
What billing will look like at v1.0
When paid tiers go live, billing is handled by Stripe directly inside the app. There is no third-party reseller, no manual bank transfer, no hidden fee:
- Update payment method — Stripe Elements opens inside the desktop app.
- Pro-rated upgrades and downgrades — you only pay the delta, calculated to the day.
- Cancel anytime — service continues until the end of the current period; no questions, no retention dance.
- Reactivate with one click — if you change your mind before the period ends.
- Downloadable PDF invoices — every payment generates a fully compliant invoice in Settings → Subscription → Payment History.
- Refund window — within 14 days of any new subscription or upgrade, request a full refund from Settings → Subscription → Help. No interrogation.
Our billing promises
- No surprise charges. When pricing launches we will announce it 30 days in advance and require an explicit opt-in. Nothing auto-converts.
- No dark patterns. Cancel buttons are where you expect them. No "are you sure?" traps.
- No data hostage. Cancel and your data stays exportable forever (encrypted
.vxdbbundles). - Free tier forever. Solo developers will always have a working VORTΞXHQ without paying a cent.
